Point Loma-based Coleman Moving Systems Inc. started 44 years ago and continues to be run by its founding family.
It provides residential and commercial moving services throughout San Diego County and even throughout California.
The Point Loma-OB Monthly asked some questions of company Vice President Matt Coleman to find out more.
Q. When did your business start? Who founded it? What is its mission?
A. My Father, Stuart Coleman, started the business in 1979. Coleman Moving Systems’ mission is to provide quality service in a timely manner.
Q. What services do you offer?
A. We offer packing and unpacking services, moving services, piano moving services, loading pods, containers and self-hauls, moving furniture within the house and one-piece furniture moves.
Q. What makes you and/or your company unique compared with similar businesses?
A. We have full-time movers that have experience moving furniture day in and day out. They are trustworthy and hard-working. They make my job a lot easier because I can trust them to go out and do a great job.
Q. What’s new about your business that you would like everyone to know about?
A. We have newer trucks that are dependable. We worked hard over the years so we can have clean and dependable trucks. You can rely on us to get your belongings from Point A to Point B without any issues.
Q. What are the advantages of being based in Point Loma/Ocean Beach?
A. We are close to all of San Diego. We can get to all of our customers efficiently from where we are. We feel like we are lucky to be based where we are. Also, we love the PL/OB area, so it’s nice to be close to home.
