Stroll, dance, sing, read, hear authors and even build roller coasters in Point Loma Library programs

Plenty of programs and events for all ages are happening at the Point Loma/Hervey Library at 3701 Voltaire St.
Here are many of them:
• Story Strolls — through June. People of all ages are invited to take a stroll at the Famosa Slough with a picture book along a trail starting at 2550 Famosa Blvd., at Valeta Street. A scavenger hunt activity sheet for kids can be picked up at the trailhead or the Point Loma Library. The Famosa Slough offers opportunities for bird watchers and nature walkers of all experience levels. Visit facebook.com/pointlomalibrary for a sneak peek of the stroll.
• 2023 Summer Reading Program — through August. San Diego residents of all ages are encouraged to sign up and complete a combination of books, hours of reading or activities totaling 10 to claim prizes. Register at sandiego.gov/summerreading.
• Hullabaloo music show — 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 15. Join a foot-stomping, wing-flapping, hand-clapping celebration of song for children and families with the band Hullabaloo. The program will be held outdoors on the library’s lawn.
• Find Your Voice Through Dance — 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 22. The dance class is meant for children in preschool through elementary school and their families.

• STEAM Family Adventure Roller Coaster Challenge — 2:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 24. Parents and children can join forces to design a family amusement park of their own while learning about potential and kinetic energy as they design and build a roller coaster using foam pipes and marbles. Registration is required, and the event is limited to 20 families. Register at sandiego.librarymarket.com/event/steam-family and list the number of family members attending in the “Special notes” field.
• Find Your Voice Like a Ventriloquist — 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 29. Ventriloquist and puppeteer Joe Gandelman will perform an interactive show with family-friendly comedy, music and a unique cast of characters.
