Rain stops to let Ocean Beach Parade pass by

For at least 90 very-important minutes on Saturday evening, Dec. 7, the weekend drizzles and downpours ended just in time for the 39th annual Ocean Beach parade to wind its way down Newport Avenue. Hooting and horn-blowing fans on the sidelines cheered each passing float, civic group and band. As one resident was overheard telling his neighbors: “I wouldn’t miss this sweet sensational parade for anything.” The OB Town Council sponsors the event. The 2019 theme was “Miracle On Newport Avenue,” and it was indeed!
