Police seek tips on hit-and-run driver who fatally struck skateboarder in Ocean Beach

Cameron Loren, 25, was killed in a hit-and-run crash June 4 in Ocean Beach.

Investigators sought the public’s help July 2 in finding the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Ocean Beach a month earlier.

About 10:30 p.m. June 4, Cameron Loren, 25, was riding his skateboard west in the 4500 block of Voltaire Street, in the middle of the road, when a vehicle struck him from behind, according to San Diego police. The driver immediately drove away, police said.

Loren suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said they believe the suspect’s vehicle was a light-colored sedan that may have a damaged windshield and roof line.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for a tip that leads to an arrest in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the San Diego Police Department Traffic Division at (858) 495-7807 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
