Man stabbed near Ocean Beach Pier

A man suffering from a stab wound was found under the Ocean Beach Pier early Aug. 7, police said.

The man, who is in his 30s, was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, San Diego police Officer Tony Martinez said.

The stabbing was reported around 4:15 a.m. near the pier off Niagara Avenue, Martinez said.

The circumstances leading to the stabbing were under investigation.

NBC7 reported that a group of three possible suspects was last seen heading north on Abbott Street in a Dodge truck. A detailed description of the group was not immediately available.
