Hit-and-run driver is sought after pedestrian is struck and injured in Midway District

Police were searching for a hit-and-run driver after a pedestrian was struck and seriously injured while crossing a Midway District street outside a crosswalk, San Diego police said.

A 41-year-old man was crossing Rosecrans Street westbound when he was struck by a vehicle shortly before 9:30 p.m. Sept. 23 north of Lytton Street, police Officer Robert Heims said. The driver fled the scene in an unknown direction in a vehicle described only as a white sedan. No description of the driver was immediately available.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening head injuries, the officer said.
