Motor home fire in Ocean Beach sends man to hospital

A fire that broke out Jan. 1 in a motor home parked in the driveway of an Ocean Beach business injured a man, sending him to a hospital.
The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said it received a call at 3:42 p.m. about a structure fire near the intersection of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard and Voltaire Street.
An employee at a nearby gas station said the fire was in a motor home parked in the driveway of Tropic Island Bird and Supply at 4760 Voltaire. The witness said a man known to live in the motor home was taken from the scene by ambulance.
The injured man’s identity and the nature of his injuries were not immediately known, nor were estimates on the damage to the motor home or its contents.
A total of 35 firefighters responded to the blaze, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue, which said an investigator had been assigned to determine the cause of the fire.
