Woman critically injured in scooter crash in Ocean Beach

A 27-year-old woman was critically injured Jan. 17 in Ocean Beach when the electric scooter she was riding hit a crack in the
sidewalk, launching her head over heels, San Diego police said.

The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. on Cape May Avenue near Bacon Street, police Officer John Buttle said.

The woman suffered a fractured skull and a brain bleed, Buttle said. She was taken to a hospital.
