Suspect arrested after pickup hits patrol vehicle and other cars during Point Loma chase

A suspect was arrested May 17 after the pickup he was driving hit a patrol vehicle and at least two other cars during a short pursuit that started in Point Loma Heights, San Diego police said.
The pursuit began at about 9:15 a.m. when a detective saw a man driving a possibly stolen Ford F-250 in the parking lot of an apartment complex on West Point Loma Boulevard east of Nimitz Boulevard, police Officer Scott Lockwood said.
The pickup rammed a patrol vehicle and another vehicle on its way out of the parking lot, then went west on West Point Loma Boulevard, then north on Nimitz before making its way to SeaWorld Drive,
Lockwood said.
The truck hit a sedan during the chase before crashing into a tree on Quivira Way. The driver attempted to run away, the officer said.
Officers took the suspect into custody nearby at about 9:25 a.m., Lockwood said. His name and age were not immediately available.
