Police investigate fatal shooting at Sunset Cliffs park

The shooting was reported shortly before 11:30 p.m. June 27.
San Diego police are investigating a fatal shooting reported late June 27 at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park.
Police received calls about gunshots coming from the park on Ladera Street shortly before 11:30 p.m., according to acting police Lt. Joel Tien.
Officers arrived and found a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the park, Tien said. Emergency personnel administered CPR, but the victim died before he could be taken to a hospital.
Police have tentatively identified the victim but have not yet confirmed his name, Tien said.
No other information was released.
“It is still early in the investigation and little is known about the circumstances leading to the male’s death,” Tien said in a statement. “Detectives are collecting evidence and attempting to locate witnesses.”
