San Diego police are investigating a fatal shooting reported late June 27 at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park.

Officers arrived and found a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the park, Tien said. Emergency personnel administered CPR, but the victim died before he could be taken to a hospital.

Police have tentatively identified the victim but have not yet confirmed his name, Tien said.

No other information was released.

“It is still early in the investigation and little is known about the circumstances leading to the male’s death,” Tien said in a statement. “Detectives are collecting evidence and attempting to locate witnesses.”

Police asked anyone with information about the case to call the Homicide Unit at (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
