Person rescued in water off Sunset Cliffs; empty panga found nearby

Someone called 911 about 2:30 a.m. Nov. 12 to report hearing screams for help in the water.
At least one person was rescued from the water off Sunset Cliffs on Nov. 12 after authorities were alerted to someone screaming for help in the area, San Diego police said.
A low-slung boat known as a panga was found empty nearby.
Someone called 911 about 2:30 a.m. to report a person in distress in the water about a mile south of the Ocean Beach Pier, said police Officer David O’Brien.
Lifeguards pulled a person from the water. Footage from OnScene.TV shows paramedics tending to a man in an ambulance.
The Coast Guard and Border Patrol searched the water for others.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone else was found, and no further information was available.
