Bicyclist, 75, is seriously injured in crash near Liberty Station

A 75-year-old bicyclist suffered a broken left clavicle and several broken ribs on his left side when he was struck from behind by a compact SUV on Nov. 17 near Liberty Station.
The man was riding south in the 2300 block of Cushing Road near NTC Park at about 3 p.m. when he was hit by a Ford Escape driven by a 43-year-old man, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The cyclist was thrown from his bike onto the roadway. He was taken to a hospital, where his injuries were determined not to be life-threatening, police said.
The driver of the Escape cooperated with investigators, police said. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
