Man is stabbed after another man tackles him in Ocean Beach

A man was stabbed early Dec. 9 in Ocean Beach when another man ran up and took him to the ground, police said.
Around 1:30 a.m., a man in his 30s was speaking to a couple in the 5000 block of Newport Avenue when another man “ran up to the victim swinging his arms,” according to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims. The men fell to the ground and after a struggle, the assailant got up and walked away, police said.
When the victim stood up, he noticed he was bleeding from two stab wounds in his side. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
No detailed description of the assailant was released.
