Husband and wife die in murder-suicide in Point Loma, police say

In what police called a murder-suicide, an 86-year-old man fatally shot his 83-year-old wife before turning the gun on himself in Point Loma the night of May 16.
The shooting was reported at the couple’s home on Lowell Street near Nimitz Boulevard at about 7:30 p.m.
San Diego police officers found the couple inside the home and started first aid until paramedics arrived and took over, but the man and the woman died before they could be taken to a hospital, police said. Their names were not released.
