Skateboarder injured in Point Loma crash

A man on a skateboard who police said failed to yield to oncoming traffic was seriously injured when struck by a car in Point Loma late July 4.
The 28-year-old man was riding south on Guizot Street at a “high rate of speed” when he didn’t stop at a stop sign and was hit by a Toyota Prius driven by a 27-year-old man heading west on the cross street, Orchard Avenue, around 10:20 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.
The skateboarder was taken to a hospital with a fractured left arm. Alcohol was not considered a factor in the crash, police said.
