A body that washed up at Sunset Cliffs last week has been identified as a Riverside County man, according to the San Diego County medical examiner’s office.

Andy Gustavo Caballero Montes, 24, was last seen alive six days before his body was found July 13.

That morning, someone called 911 shortly after 5:35 a.m. to report seeing a body wedged in the rocks at Sunset Cliffs Boulevard near Adair Street, police said.

The caller was a fisherman who had been looking for bait, San Diego police Capt. Laura McLean told reporters.

No further information about Caballero Montes was available. Authorities are working to determine when and how he died.
