Water at Ocean Beach’s Dog Beach is reopened after closure caused by sewage spill in San Diego River
The water at Dog Beach in Ocean Beach was reopened to the public Sept. 4 after a three-day closure caused by a sewage spill upstream in the San Diego River.
“Recent water quality samples meet state health standards,” the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality said in an email.
The department had issued the closure Sept. 1 from the river outlet to 300 feet south, saying the spill was “impacting ocean waters and may cause illness.”
