Lifeguards rescue two people stranded at Sunset Cliffs cave

The two reportedly were found below Point Loma Nazarene University while trying to enter the country illegally, authorities said.
Two people who were stuck in a sea cave at Sunset Cliffs were rescued the morning of Dec. 4 by San Diego lifeguards, an official said.
The two were undocumented immigrants believed to be trying to enter the United States illegally, according to authorities.
The Coast Guard alerted lifeguards about the need for a rescue around 7:15 a.m., San Diego lifeguard Lt. Brian Clark told OnScene.TV.
Lifeguards rescued the people from the sea cave using a personal watercraft, Clark said.
The two were taken to a hospital to be treated for exposure, said San Diego Fire-Rescue Battalion Chief Matt Nilsen. One of the people was a 40-year-old man; details about the second person weren’t released.
OnScene.TV reported that the two were found wearing life preservers and that the rescue took place below Point Loma Nazarene University.
