Pedestrian struck and injured in Midway District crash

A 35-year-old woman was injured after running into the path of a vehicle while crossing a street in the Midway District, authorities said.
San Diego police officers responded at 9:30 p.m. March 20 to the 3100 block of Sports Arena Boulevard, where they learned that the pedestrian had been struck by a 2014 Toyota Prius driven west by a 24-year-old woman. The pedestrian had run into the path of the car for unknown reasons, Officer Robert Heims said.
The pedestrian suffered a pelvic fracture, authorities said. The driver of the Prius was not injured.
It was unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, Heims said.
