A 35-year-old woman was injured after running into the path of a vehicle while crossing a street in the Midway District, authorities said.

San Diego police officers responded at 9:30 p.m. March 20 to the 3100 block of Sports Arena Boulevard, where they learned that the pedestrian had been struck by a 2014 Toyota Prius driven west by a 24-year-old woman. The pedestrian had run into the path of the car for unknown reasons, Officer Robert Heims said.

The pedestrian suffered a pelvic fracture, authorities said. The driver of the Prius was not injured.

It was unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, Heims said.

The Police Department’s Traffic Division is investigating the case. Anyone with information was asked to call (858) 495-7800 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
