Two bicyclists were seriously hurt in a collision on a Point Loma street May 5.

The men, both 57, were heading north alongside each other in the 400 block of Catalina Boulevard shortly before 10 a.m. when one of the bikes crashed into the other, sending the riders tumbling to the ground, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Paramedics took the men to hospitals for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries, SDPD Officer David O’Brien said.
